- A private hot outdoor shower is adjacent to the cabin. Two bath towels and basic body-wash are provided.
- A shared washroom with sink, hot shower and flush toilet is available at road level.
- Queen-size bed with freshly laundered mattress pad, fitted and flat sheets, four pillows, a light blanket, and several small throw pillows.
- Light snacks are provided the first night of your stay for you to enjoy the first morning of your stay.
- One 8 lb bag of ice is provided the first night of your stay. Additional ice may be purchased in the community.
- A case of 16 bottles of water is provided the first night of your stay. Additional water may be purchased in the community.
- Coffee service includes an electric self-service pod-style coffee maker, assorted coffee pods, tea, creamers, and sweetners.
- Two ceramic cereal bowls, coffee mugs, and spoons are provided.
- The roomy sunrise deck has a padded bench, Flickr tabletop fireplace, folding camp chair, and galvanized trash bin.
- This is a hike-in style accomodation that is not ideal for young children or those who will have trouble making the vigorous three minute hike up the ridge to the cabin. Parking is at road level.
- On warm summer nights you’ll enjoy the remote controlled ceiling fan.
- Wall-mounted propane heat is ideal for chilly spring or fall nights.
- The comfortable grass yard has an epoxy-coated picnic table for enjoying incredible mountain sunsets.

Before you make a reservation, you should know why we call this an Urban Camping Experience. Our bunkie-style cabin is located less than two miles from downtown Oak Hill, West Virginia. Mid-way up a beautiful ridge, you can see and hear the world go by while nestled out of view of both travelers and locals. Road noise is always present. Most people quickly acclimate. But I want every guest to enjoy their visit.
For this reason, I give you my two-fold satisfaction guarantee.
One. Before you unpack your car, make the three minute walk up the hill and find a comfortable place to relax on the spacious sunrise deck, around the picnic table, or in a camp chair in the yard. Enjoy the view and take in the sights and sounds. Hang out. There is no rush. Stay an hour, even two. If you realize my little piece of heaven is not your cup of tea, text me before you carry your belongings up the hill and set up camp and I’ll cancel your entire reservation and refund every penny. No harm, no foul. Remember, you’re in the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. Grab your phone and start Googling. You will find many accommodation options in the area.
Two. Once you’re situated, find a comfortable place to watch squirrels and chipmunks play. Listen closely to see how many bird calls you can identify. Enjoy the gentle babble of the birdbath fountain. Feel the warmth of the sun filtering through tall oak, pine, and hickory trees on your face. Savor the sunset, moonlight, and glow of your personal Flikr tabletop fireplace. Rest easy. Enjoy a slow start to your morning with a hot cup of coffee and an amazing sunrise. If you still aren’t convinced, text and let me know that you’re breaking camp. I’ll cancel the remainder of your stay, issue a refund for any remaining nights, update the online calendar, and send the cleaners over to change the sheets and tidy things up. I’m sure you’ll understand, I can not refund your first night’s stay once you settle into the cabin since I have to pay the cleaners to change out the sheets and get everything ready for the next guests.
